Danbury Mint 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible 50th Anniversary Edition

Wednesday, 29 April 2009 15:25 by Peter
No big surprise, but a happy one. For the first time this model has a convertible top (hooray), and the color combination is classic. For the 50th anniversary of this car, DM has issued this repaint with a few upgrades. In addition to the aforementioned roof, it appears they have added some photo-etched details, including the "wings" on either side of the front fender tops. Danbury Mint 1959 Ford Thunderbird Convertible LE is Here, and it's a STUNNER!

Sunday, 26 April 2009 18:20 by Peter
Another gorgeous model from the Danbury Mint, and I just love the color, which is very close to the color of my 1:1 1972 T-Bird. This is the first 59 convertible, and it's a beauty. The top-down view reveals the remarkable interior fittings and details. For instance, in the close-up views, notice the simulated stitching on the seats and door armrests. This model is packed with precision details, and DM had the scripts sealed this time. The front grillwork shows vertical bars, less visible on the 1:1, and curiously enough on the prior iterations of this model: the white coupe and the bronze/cream LE coupe. Not a deal-breaker by any means, but it's really a shame since they had it right the first two times. All in all, a fantastic model, destined to be your new favorite. It's definitely mine ;-)

Danbury Mint presents the Royal Bobcat 1969 Pontiac GTO Coupe

Friday, 24 April 2009 00:38 by Peter
Here's a rare one from the folks at DM, the Royal Bobcat 1969 Pontiac GTO Coupe, in turquoise and white. According to Danbury's literature, there were only two cars that left the showroom this way. It's the same old tooling, but with all the requisite tweaks to give it the full Bobcat treatment, inside and out. This is not a limited edition, but rather a standard issue going for $129. Nevertheless, if you want one I'd suggest that you don't delay. DM has been known to discontinue models without warning, and this one might be gone before you know it.
